Summer's End | Atlantic Beach Photographer
It's that time of year again. According to my calendar, fall will arrive in just a few days. How is that possible? It seems that we were just gearing up for summer on the Crystal Coast not too long ago. Although, it will feel like summer for me well into fall as I will still be editing beautiful, warm summer sessions I am looking forward to crisp, cool evenings in NC. It has been an amazing summer meeting families from eastern NC and from all over the U.S. I'm looking forward

The Ultimate Guide to Summer Fun on the Crystal Coast!
As the Summer season approaches clients visiting the Crystal Coast often ask, "What are some fun things to do with our kids while we're at the beach?" There are so many activities and fun things to do along the Crystal Coast. This year I've put a list of things together that I have enjoyed doing with my family and friends over the years while living in Morehead City. Whether you're from the Crystal Coast or taking a much needed vacation, this list is sure to make a memorable

This Session Rocked!
When Stephanie described her family style as hipster, I knew a stop at Fort Macon State Park was going to make the perfect backdrop for their family photo session while they were here visiting the beach. The brick and texture around the fort really brought out their style and personality. When the littlest showed up in suspenders, I knew they were going to rock their session. They did indeed. After the first half of their session, we finished up at Fort Macon and headed over

Welcome August : Morehead City Newborn Photographer
Little August had his session a couple of weeks ago at just seven days new. I met his sweet mom when she and her family moved to the Crystal Coast last year and she was in need of a few business head shots. I was so excited to hear from her this year with the news of her third baby on the way. The most exciting part of it was that the gender was a surprise! The family welcomed their third BOY in March! He is as sweet as can be and barely made a peep his entire session. As alw

I did it! Month one of my photo a day is complete.
And just like that, I've completed the first month of my photo a day challenge. If you haven't heard of these challenges and are interested in documenting tidbits of your everyday, head over to Instagram. Search a few #hashtags like #my365, #photoaday, #photochallenge and #project365. You will see endless amounts of everyday life images. I won't lie, I was hesitant at giving this a try again this year. I gave it a try a few years ago and didn't make it through the third month

Thank you for your service!
I recently had the pleasure of meeting another beautiful military family on the Crystal Coast. I'm so grateful to have the opportunity to meet families from Camp Lejeune, NC and Cherry Point, NC. So many friendships have been built along the way. It's always hard to see them go when they are assigned to their next station, but I do get to see a few return to the coast from time to time. Sam and his family recently moved to NC and he called to schedule a session with his sweet

I can't believe we are less than a day from saying hello to 2016. 2015 has been an amazing year and I am so happy to have worked with the best clients I could ask for. Now that all of the photo gifts and Christmas cards are out, I can share a few of this year's holiday portraits that were created on the Crystal Coast. Wishing you all a Happy New Year! Well, HELLO there!
Hello friends, family, clients, and fans! Welcome to my blog! I am so excited to finally start this new blog and to share all of the exciting things happening with Susan Yates Photography. SYP has grown so much since 2010 and every year I intend to start a blog, but always seem to convince myself that I am just too busy. Well, over five years later my blog is up. I plan to share session images, tips and ideas throughout the year. If you are a new follower to Susan Yates Photo
